Identity and Travel History
- A valid passport with at least one blank page
- Previous passports showing prior travel history, especially any prior UK or international visits, which help demonstrate a pattern of genuine, temporary travel
- A recent photograph meeting the UKVI specification
Financial Evidence
- Bank statements for the past six months, showing a stable balance and regular activity rather than a single large deposit shortly before applying
- Salary slips or, for business owners, evidence of business income and ongoing trading activity
- If a UK-based sponsor is covering costs, their bank statements and a signed letter of invitation
Ties to Pakistan
This is the evidence category applicants most often under-document, and it's usually the deciding factor in a visit visa decision. Useful evidence includes:
- An employment letter confirming your position, salary, and approved leave dates
- Property ownership documents, if applicable
- Evidence of family responsibilities in Pakistan (dependents, a family business, ongoing studies)
Purpose of Visit
- For tourism: a rough itinerary and accommodation bookings
- For visiting family or friends: an invitation letter from the UK-based host, along with evidence of their immigration status
- For business visits: a letter from your employer explaining the purpose, and an invitation from the UK company being visited
Note: Providing more documents isn't the same as providing better evidence. A thin, well-organised, and consistent set of documents that clearly supports your intended visit and your ties to Pakistan is stronger than a large bundle with gaps or contradictions.
